Zurich and Geneva are Switzerland’s two principal international gateways, serving different sides of the country and major Alpine corridors. Basel EuroAirport is also strategically important although physically in France, while Bern, Lugano and St. Gallen-Altenrhein cover specialist regional demand.
ZRH is strongest for Zurich, central and eastern Switzerland; GVA for western Switzerland and many French Alps routes. Basel-area travel requires careful identification of EuroAirport’s binational access, and Alpine destinations should be matched to the correct valley and pass corridor.
